15. August 2020
On August 12, the second Global Production Community Meeting of this year took place successfully. Although this meeting also had to take place digitally, the exchange of knowledge and networking were still in the foreground.

The highlights of the meeting included a keynote speech on “Industry 4.0 Productivity Construction Kit” by Frederick Sauermann from the WZL and a workshop on the degree of centralization in global production networks, with an exciting discussion about the areas in which centralized or decentralized design approaches makes sense. In addition to these and other insights on interesting topics of global production, the starting signal for our Consortium Benchmarks was given. Under the titles “Successful Production in Fast-Moving Markets” and “Artificial Intelligence – Overrated Hype or Future Technology?”, two studies will run until fall 2021 in order to jointly find answers to current problems and challenges and identify best practices. We are looking forward to the results. Interested companies can contact us at any time.

We are already looking forward to the next meeting and, above all, to the personal exchange again. If you are also interested in participating in a community meeting, please feel free to contact us!
